This pool is one of the most important of
the waterworks of ancient Jerusalem. Completed in the end of eight century B.C. The place
is known in the Gospels for the episode of the healing of the blind man.
"A man that is called Jesus made
clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I
went and washed, and I received sight" (Luke, 14th 44)
