The Church of Beatitudes is located on a hill - called mount of Beatitudes, above the Sea of Galilee. It is named after the Sermon on the Mount, during which Jesus proclaimed the Beatitudes to the crowd that had gathered to listen to him. (Matthew, 5: 3-11)

It was built in 1937 by the architect Antonio Barluzzi.
